Equinox_3_2Equinox has started selling their units. As of last weekend, close to 40 units were sold.

Three different parts of the building make up this 204 unit condo. The two parts of the building closest to Eastlake Ave have lofts, open one bedrooms, one bedroom plus dens and two bedrooms. The 4 two-level lofts in the north side of the building are approximately 1,000 square feet and feature 17 foot ceilings. Units on the first level facing the courtyard have their own private patio.

The third part of the building (further from Eastlake Ave) has open one bedrooms, one bedroom plus dens, two bedrooms and two bedroom plus dens. This side of the building is closer to I5 and you’ll probably hear a little bit of traffic noise. For those who are sensitive to noise, you might want to keep that in mind.

Equinox_open_one_bed_2Beside the spacious, above street level, gated courtyard, Equinox has a separate ‘Jewel box’ glass enclosed lobby that allows visitors to enter before getting into the condo. This is a rather unique design.

Three color schemes are available for home buyers to choose from and several customization and options are also available.

• Euroslider room dividers

• Hardwood floors throughout

• Mobile kitchen island

• Electronic shades (cool!)

• Custom multi-media systems

• Air conditioning

I asked Carrie DeBuys, the sales manager, about the project.

Here are some of her comments.

How is Equinox different from the developer’s two new constructions, Gallery and Brix?

Homebuyers who are looking at Equinox are attracted by the appealing Eastlake crowd. It gives them a sense of a community. Being an Eastlake resident, I know exactly how it feels to go into a store and people calling you by your name and everyone seems to know everyone. Equinox’s units have views of the lake and its proximity to Capitol Hill and University Area is also another reason why Equinox appeals to our homebuyers.

There is an increasing trend of developers building more and more open one bedroom units rather than an actual enclosed one bedroom. What do you say to a homebuyers who feel that the open floor plan is more like a studio than an actual one bedroom?

The open one bedroom has more efficient use of space. The space is not eaten up by long hallway. You do have a separate sleeping area. There is less wasted space and the layout can be better used.

What have you been hearing from home buyers who came in for the preview appointments?

They want quick information about the condo. We understand that home buyers don’t want to wait too long to get information.  At our sale center, we are forthcoming with the information. Our customer focused sales process allows homebuyers the priority to purchase the unit. We’re happy to provide pricing to them and they can go into a purchase and sale agreement. There is no lottery for our units or long wait for the purchasing of our units.

Pros

+ Appealing outdoor area (Private outdoor spaces/roof top decks, central courtyard and communal roof top deck)

+ A few minute walk to the soon to be opened streetcar line

Cons

– I5 Noise on the east side of the building

Final thoughts: A nice new building close to the new street car line in the developing Eastlake neighborhood.
