Site 17 in Belltown was originally an apartment completed in 1998 and then was subsequently converted into a condo in 2005. The condo is divided into two buildings located along Western Ave, only a few minute walk north of Pike Place Market. Site 17 consists of 129 homes with 97 units in the south building and 32 units in the north building.
A wide variety of floor plans includes studios, one bedrooms, one bedroom lofts, two bedrooms, and 2 bedroom town homes.
Square footage:
Studio ~496-650
One bedroom ~513-715
One bedroom Loft ~723-896
Two bedroom ~764-1058
Amenities include: Fitness center, club house and roof decks.
Site 17 is one of the few established buildings in Belltown that also offers loft floor plans. Ceiling heights for these homes go as high as 18 feet. Although there is nothing striking about the exterior (which in some ways reveal its apartment origins), Site 17's affordable price points offer many first time home buyers one of the opportunities to own a home in this vibrant urban neighborhood.
Interesting timing, on my way home from Rudy’s barbershop yesterday a gentlemen was smoking crack directly in front of the entrance to Site 17. I generally avoid western ave between cedar and pike place market at all costs, it’s much better along 1st ave. It’s only when walking to/from Rudy’s that I make an exception, but most likely not after that sighting.
Wendy,
Site 17 condos have been released and open to the public since 2006 or earlier, why the fan fare now?
Also, what are the price points?
Seth
We bought the last condo available in the public sale a couple years ago. I think this open house is for a few condos that are currently for sale there.
Yes, this open house was a group event organized by a number of owners (more specifically, their Realtors) so that buyers could walk through all the units easily without the hassle of making appointments.
Mike, it’s not a bad neighborhood, if you’re used to a city. Not like upper QA or the Eastside, though.
But maybe if we ship a few crack addicts to Redmond…
We’ve never felt unsafe. What scares me are jumbo Targets, 520, PF Changs and The Cheesecake Factory.
I lived in that area for 2 years and felt unsafe anytime I went out at night. I saw things that still surprise me when I think about it. We still live downtown though at the edge of Belltown and QA and feel much more safe here. Then again, I really like PF Changs.
