Waterfront Landings Condos is the largest condominium project near Pike Place Market and is located at 1900-2000 Alaskan Way. The building has 234 units made up by three different complexes, the Viaggio (1900), Lumiere (1950), and Minato (2000). If you are looking for a condominium close to the waterfront, it’s hard to get better than this building.
Floor Plans Square feet
Studio 533-710
One bedroom & One bedroom plus den 591-960
Two bedroom 1,012-3,143
This 5-story wood framed building has a good number of amenities including onsite building manager, exercise room, guest suites, club room/party room, roof top deck, business center, and courtyard in between the complexes. Waterfront Landings’s major selling points are the location and the great water views. Pike Place Market, Seattle Aquarium, and Olympic Sculpture Park are all within walking distance.
The biggest draw back is probably the occasional freight train running along to the east of the building. Even though there is a concrete wall put up in between the tracks and the condos, residents can still experience a bit of noise and also having to wait at the traffic stop for the train to pass if you’re driving to or from home.
Since it is located at one of the most t ouristy locations in Seattle, this building is great if you are considering buying it as a 2nd home but may not be the most convenient neighborhood for all year round living. It doesn’t have a lot of competition and the prices for the water view homes are more affordable compared to some of the new construction projects nearby.
The guest suites (there might only be one for the whole complex, or each building might have one, can’t recall) are awesome to have. Guests coming and you have a small place? Boom, they have a great spot to crash for far, far less than you’d pay at the Marriott next door.
Other than that, though, every time I visit someone at this building I always kind of feel like it’s more of an apartment than a condo. Probably the wood framing instead of steel/concrete.
Great location if you like the waterfront, though!
There are two guest suites in the complex and they are often available with little advance scheduling during the week in the fall, winter, and spring. the suites are rented for a nominal cleaning fee, include parking, and can be had for up to three nights in a row.
WFL is unique in that it is the only condo west of the AK Way Viaduct. The bldg has adequate soundproofing as this was a requirement by the Port of Seattle when they sold the land to the developer.
