The Pomeroy is a quitely elegant building located in the heart of Belltown on 1st Ave and Battery. Interestingly shaped like a triangle, this 8 story concrete and steel building houses 52 condominiums which comprise several open and enclosed one bedroom, one bedroom plus den, two bedroom, and two bedroom plus den units along with one 2,700 square foot penthouse.
The open one bedroom units feature a layout with a raised platform bedroom right off the entry way. While this is a bit unconventional, what you also get are high quality finishes, a spacious layout, and a great amount of windows.
Pomeroy’s most outstanding amenity is the roof top deck, probably one of the best in Belltown. This exclusive perch allows residents to enjoy a panoramic view of the city and the Puget Sound while grilling summer dinners. One might think that since it is located so close to the viaduct, traffic noise is unbearable. You would be surprised since the units have excellent sound insulation, air conditioning, and the overall quality of construction is top notch.

– Excellent quality construction
Cons
-Located above a newly opened bar, Twist.

Is this a conversion? It doesn’t appear to have a website. But I found an expired rental ad, $1500 for a 1 bedroom. $600,000 on average quoting from another site.
Wow – $600K renting around $1500 – that’s an amazingly crisp illustration of the financial side of renting vs. buying condos right now. $2500 would still be a steal based on mortgage, HOA, taxes and broker fees associated with buying. At the Pomeroy a long-term rental would allow the resident to bail if next year’s Viaduct repairs planned at the Battery Street Tunnel next to them proves disturbing. Have to admire the residents here – they battled quite hard to have the Twist nightclub tone down its impact on their sleep. Residents do still face noisy smokers from Twist below their open windows on summer nights, plus neighborhood clubgoers going to their cars in the parking lot across First often bring out cops to quell crowds, but ah well. Life on the edge!
It’s not a conversion, it’s an existing condo. Tom’s comment above makes me wonder how many people think the only condos you can buy in Seattle are the often overpriced new buildings or conversions? FWIW, I find the best buys to be on the resale market for pre-2003 condos.
BTW, there’s a 900sf 1BR+Den for rent on Craig’s List for $2,150 a month.
