As we forge into 2017 it is a good time to take a look at what major condominium building projects are in the pipeline to start construction in 2017 both in Bellevue and Seattle. It isn’t a long list, there are only 6 projects slated for development, and one of those might still be apartments. If all of the building get built and are indeed sold as condominiums, 1,677 new construction units would come to market.
Here are the upcoming Seattle condo projects:
- NEXUS in Downtown Seattle
- 40 stories
- 374 residences
- Developer: Burrard Group of Canada
- 1631 2nd Ave in Pike Place Market area
- 40 stories
- 266 residences
- Developer: Create World America of Hong Kong
- U Place near the University Village
- 6 stories
- 244 residences
- Developer: ZQH out of China
- 8th Ave & Columbia St in First Hill (no rendering)
- 30 stories
- 287 residences
- Developer: Daniel’s Real Estate of Seattle
- This is the development that still might be apartments as the final decision hasn’t yet been made
- One88
- 21 stories
- 143 units
- Developer: Bosa of Canada
- Elev8 in Bellevue
- Four 40 story towers (residential (condo and apartment), hotel and office)
- 355 condominium residences
- Plus Investment USA of Hong Kong
According to PSBJ, during the last condo building boom 3,765 units were under construction in the greater Seattle area alone so we are no where those numbers in this cycle. With the hiring boom and in-migration coupled with foreign investors, this inventory should be able to be absorbed quickly if the economy stays the course.

Does it concern anyone else that these are all foreign investment? IE – owning our city from the outside in?
